Privacy policy

This policy covers the website at deft.io. It doesn’t cover the deft app. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
Who we are
deft.io is run by sealedapp LLC, which decides how the information described here is used. Write to privacy@deft.io with any question or request about it.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist
Your email address and the time you signed up. We use it to write to you about early access to deft. We don’t sell it or use it for anything else, and we don’t store your IP address with it.
If you allow analytics
We use analytics to understand how people use the site: which pages are viewed, how people arrive, and where they get stuck. This includes cookies and aggregated usage data from Google Analytics, and cookies and anonymized session replays from Microsoft Clarity, which show how a visit moved through the site: where people clicked, scrolled and paused. If you’re in the EU, the rest of the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, these only turn on after you click Accept. Elsewhere they run by default.
Our hosting provider
The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles every request to it. Cloudflare sees technical details such as your IP address and browser in order to deliver and protect the site, and it uses your approximate country to tell us whether to show you the cookie banner. We don’t keep that information.
Cookies and your choices
If you were asked about cookies, we remember your answer in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again. You can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Declining removes the analytics cookies we can reach and stops them loading. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.
Why we may use your information
- For the waitlist: your consent, which you give by submitting your email.
- For analytics cookies: your consent, where the law requires it.
- For running and securing the site: our legitimate interest in keeping it working and safe.
Who else handles it
We use a few providers to run the site. They process data for us and under their own terms:
- Cloudflare, for hosting, security, and storing the waitlist.
- Google, for Google Analytics.
- Microsoft, for Clarity.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK and EEA. Where your data goes there, it is covered by the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist emails until we have finished inviting people from the waitlist, or until you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first. Analytics data is kept for the period set in each analytics tool.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or give you a copy. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@deft.io and we will respond. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
